Hello,
Thank you for taking the time to read our profile. We are Bryan and Erica. We have been together for nine years and just celebrated our seventh anniversary in September 2011. Right off the bat, we want you to know a few of the things we value:
* Family and friends
* Education
* Reading
* Libraries
* Sitting at the table eating home-cooked meals
* Playing outside
* Gardening
* Music, art, knitting and sewing
* Creativity of all kinds
Over the years we have grown to appreciate all that we have to give. We look forward to the day when we can share our life with a child.
We wish you all the best.

About Us
We met nine years ago by pure happenstance. While doing research for work, Bryan came across Erica’s website. After corresponding for a couple of weeks, we went on our first date. Two years later, we were married. We're both very creative people who are also passionate about books and food. We love growing some of our own food in our large backyard garden. Bryan does most of the cooking, and we take pleasure in eating dinner together and catching up after work at our dining room table. We enjoy ethnic food - our favorites include Indian, Thai, Middle Eastern, Mexican and Vietnamese. After receiving our master's degrees in Library Science in Illinois, we moved to Kansas in 2009 where we are both librarians. Bryan is a library manager and Erica is a children's librarian.
From Bryan:
Loving, curious, generous, talented. These are only four small words, but they describe Erica so completely. I’ve learned so much from Erica. Her generosity, both emotional and otherwise, is something to behold. She doesn’t think twice about hand-knitting blankets and clothes for friends and family, even when these projects take some time to complete. She makes beautiful quilts, which she will readily give away to friends as gifts. She most enjoys seeing people receive the gifts into which has put so much of her soul. I also love the fact that she is good with numbers, which I'm not. She is also the greatest navigator someone like me could ever have. I can get lost very easily. (Erica has some really good stories about me getting lost.) Without Erica leading the way, I would go around in circles.
Erica knits, sews and quilts. Family and friends have received hand-knit sweaters, socks, mittens, hats and scarves. She's knitted countless baby sweaters, baby socks, booties and blankets for friends and family. With her sewing, she's made a number of bags, skirts, shirts and even a few toys. A few years ago, a friend taught her to quilt, and she's decided it's her new favorite baby gift to give. She looks forward to the day that the baby sweater she's knitting is for her own child.
Bryan is the most caring, creative and generous person. His unique personality goes hand-in-hand with his creativity. The way his creative mind works never ceases to amaze me. He’s a poet and a collage artist. If there is a word in the English language capable of being used with an innovative new twist, Bryan will find it. With his collage art, he's able to take pieces that don't look like they could fit together and make a wonderful piece of art. His spontaneous concerts on either piano or guitar are always a treat. He is great at putting things into perspective for me when I’m having a bad day or an irrational moment. He’s taught me that things always happen for a reason, and at the right time. I feel I’m a better person for having Bryan in my life.
Bianca is the queen of the house. She's a big white kitty who's very curious and playful. Her hobbies include chasing pipe cleaners, hunting crickets in the basement, watching the birds and squirrels outside, and sleeping. She's a great supervisor whenever we're working on a project around the house or in the yard. (Her supervising usually turns into a nap.)
We live in an older, quiet neighborhood in the Johnson County suburbs of Kansas City. There are schools within walking distance and lots of kids in the neighborhood. Our house is very special. It was built by Erica's great-grandparents in the 1930s, and Erica is the fourth generation to live in the house. Erica spent a lot of time in this house as a young child. Our family loves that the house is still in the family and they are so excited that a fifth generation will be raised in this house. Our huge backyard contains our vegetable, herb and flower gardens. We have a lot of room for our child to grow, do crafts, and play outside in our enormous backyard. We are very excited about sharing our love of reading and growing food and flowers with a child. Bryan, however, has a love/hate relationship with our yard. He feels he's conquered the yard after mowing.
